City of Fort Worth West Lancaster Bridge Rehabilitation – Project Engineer. Provided field inspection and design engineering services to rehabilitate fatigue cracking at and near the bridge bearings on West Lancaster Avenue crossing the Clear Fork of the Trinity River. The deck-truss bridge is 2,975 feet long with a 40-foot-wide deck. It was constructed in 1938-1939 and previously rehabilitated in 1999. Ken supervised assisted in the field investigation, prepared construction plans, and verified structural calculations. During the rehabilitation work, the contractor identified several anchor bolts to be severely corroded. A procedure was developed to test the viability of each bolt. After field testing, it was determined to remove and replace all anchor bolts at the repaired bearings.
