The CDA project includes improvements to 27.8 miles of highways. The project includes SH 183 from SH 121 to IH-35E, SH 114 from SH 183 to International Pkwy and Loop 12 from SH 183 to IH-35E. The project will improve existing lanes of the highways; provide frontage road upgrades; and construct new, reversible managed toll lanes to keep traffic moving. MV Engineering is serving as lead designer for the structural design of wishbone ramps connecting the managed lanes on Loop 12 to the managed lanes on IH-35E. MV Engineering is part of the South Gate Constructors joint venture and a sub provider to Parsons who is the design lead for the project. Structural design included a wishbone ramp configuration that include multiple post-tensioned straddle bents, inverted-tee bents and complex geometry.
